- The album with the volume number ‘Volume septieme’ (f. 1a), according to the dedication
on f. 40b for Antoine-Louis-Henri Polier de Bottens (1741-1795), was completed in
Delhi on 11 September 1776, after Polier had entered the service of the Mughal emperor
Shāh ʿĀlam II (r. 1760-1806) in March 1776.
The album contains numerous signed works by contemporary calligraphers. The miniatures show many naturalistic depictions of animals, standing portraits of contemporary and historical rulers and courtiers as well as harem scenes.

This album with 40 leaves in the writing styles Naskhtaʿliq (Nastaʿlīq), Shikastah and S̠ulus̠ and others was completed by unique contemporary calligraphers for the excellent commander, the representative [of the emperor], pride of the empire, ornament of the government, Major Polier, hero, lion of battle - may his prosperity last forever – in the caliphate city of Shahjahanabad [Delhi] / on the 27th of the month Rajab al-Murajjab of the year 1190 Hiǧrī [11 September 1776] corresponding to the 18th year of the blessed throne of Shāh ʿĀlam [II] of the month Rajab al-Murajjab of the year 1190 Hiǧrī [11 September 1776], corresponding to the 18th year of the blessed accession of Šāh ʿĀlam [II] the king of the religious warriors – may God immortalise his kingdom'.
